“A Game of Scones” (a song of pies and fire)
This song is not my original, I just wanted to create my own arrangement from listening to the theme song from “A Game of Thrones.” Ramin Djawadi is the original composer. As always, please let me know if there is a problem with any of my abc files! Thanks!
Download the abc files for harp and lute (can play individually or as a duet)...
A Game of Scones: A Song of Pies and Fire (by Ghingeriel)
Hills of green in this docile shire,
Hide secrets that are somewhat dire.
The gentle hobbits are festive and sweet,
But it’s no secret... they like to eat!
They pose no threat, many will say,
They like to eat, drink, and play,
But if pies became scarce and ale stopped flowing,
Tarts had no berries and pipeweed stopped growing...
“Absurd!” you say, “they are gentle folk!”
“They wouldn’t eat elves and dwarves taste like smoke!”
“The race of man would outwit them by far!”
You valiantly boast, hiding the ankle scar.
Personally, I am a wee bit wary,
For I’ve witnessed what happens to pies, it’s scary!
If you want to be safe in this charming land,
You must not mind getting flour on your hand!
Tarts, scones, honey cake, pies,
There are never enough and there’s never a prize!
It’s unsettling to cook over a roasting fire,
As hungry hobbits lurk throughout the Shire!
Nobody is safe when supplies run low,
There are berries to pick and seeds to sow.
You think to yourself, while nervously humming,
Make as much as you can, because winter is coming!
Follow my advice and your days will be long,
As you enjoy the Shire, the food, the song!
It’s time to harvest, bake and fry,
When hobbits are hungry, you cook or you die!
